报告摘要:
Engineered inorganic nanoparticles, such as silica, iron oxide, aluminum oxide and their composites have been applied for various drug delivery applications, conventionally as nano-carriers. Understanding the fundamental relationship between structure and property of inorganic nanoparticles holds promise in the design of advanced systems with unprecedented functionalities, e.g., from “transporters” to “transformers”. In this presentation, we will demonstrate the impact of composition, surface roughness and asymmetry of inorganic nanoparticles on their interaction with cells. The designed nanoparticles can be used as not only novel delivery systems in sustainability, but also cellular function regulators in healthcare applications such as vaccine formulation and cancer immunotherapy.
