On-chip Signaling Approach for Chemical Sensing and in Situ Characterization of the Electrochemical Interfaces

报告摘要:
Exploiting the chemical (surface) sensitivity of nanomaterials that can be transformed into electrical signals, integrated and comprehensive nano-electronic signaling approaches have been employed as new tools for the application in chemical sensing, and further for the fundamental study of chemical and biological systems. In specific, we have developed a novel on-chip characterization strategy, electrical transport spectroscopy (ETS), as an alternative to the traditional spectroscopic characterization techniques, for in situ electrochemical surface monitoring with high surface sensitivity and surface specificity. Primary ETS investigations have provided mechanistic insights into various platinum-based electrocatalytic reactions, and further revealed the competitive anionic adsorption behavior (with oxygenated species) and their correlations to the electrokinetics of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), which opens an efficient pathway to address the practical poisoning issue (at trace level contaminations) from a fundamental perspective. Additionally, ETS has also been applied to reveal the charge transport mechanism and the electrochemical behavior in electrogenic microbes, which has been a subject of on-going debate.

报告人简介:
丁梦宁,南京大学教授、博士生导师。
2007年本科毕业于南京大学化学化工学院;2013年于匹兹堡大学化学系取得博士学位,期间获匹兹堡大学杰出博士生奖;2013-2017年在加州大学洛杉矶分校从事博士后研究工作。2018年入选江苏省特聘教授。
主要研究功能化纳米复合材料的设计合成,及其在化学生物传感器和复杂体系下化学信号获取的应用。近年来,已在Science、Nature、Nature Commun、Science Adv.、J. Am. Chem. Soc.、Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.、Adv. Mater.、Nano Lett.、ACS Nano等国际期刊上发表高水平论文20余篇。
