报告摘要：

The lecture focuses on chemical bonding in one-, two- and three-centre complexes of main-group atoms E, which is described in terms of dative bonds. It is shown that the bonding model of donor-acceptor interactions¹provides insight and understanding for unusual geometries. It served in recent years as useful guideline for the explanation of the bonding situation and the successful prediction of novel molecules.²The field of experimentally known complexes which are shown below has greatly increased in the recent past with the support of quantum chemical calculations.

报告人简介：

G. Frenking教授，1973年毕业于德国亚琛工业大学化学专业；1976年在日本京都大学诺贝尔化学奖得主Kenichi Fukui（福井谦一）教授课题组完成硕士学位；1979年在德国柏林工业大学获得博士学位并留校任教。1984-1989年间，Frenking教授先后在美国加州大学伯利克分校和美国加州斯坦福国际研究所从事科研工作，并于1990年加盟德国马堡大学化学系，历任副教授、教授。 Frenking教授现为德国马堡大学名誉教授、西班牙DIPC（圣塞瓦斯蒂安国际物理中心）客座教授。Frenking教授在计算化学和理论化学方面有着非常深厚的造诣，其研究涵盖了化学键理论、理论无机化学、具有特殊化学键的分子结构、反应机理、催化、过渡金属络合物和主族元素化合物等领域。迄今为止，Frenking教授已经在包括Nature、Science、Nature Chem.、Chem. Rev.、Chem. Soc. Rev.、JACS、Angew. Chem.等国际著名期刊发表高水平论文660多篇，出版5本著作，同时受邀参加国际会议并作讲座报告310多次。Frenking教授在其研究领域取得了非凡的成就，也因此获得了诸多的荣誉，包括日本教育部奖学金（1973年），西班牙皇家化学学会Elhuyar-Goldschmidt奖（2007年），皇家化学学会成员（2008年），世界理论和计算机化学协会薛定谔勋章（2009年），德国马堡大学Hans-Hellmann 名誉教授（2012年）等。
