Shi Jun (Dec. 13th, 1912-Sep. 1st, 2005)

Prof. Shi Jun, a reputable senior academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was an expert in chemical engineering and a master of the higher education in chemical engineering of China. Devoting all his life to education from an "extremely young professor" to a senior scholar, Prof. Shi Jun dedicated his energies of a lifetime to the glorious cause of training and bringing up a new generation. Prof. Shi' had students everywhere, ten of whom are academicians of the Chinese Academy of Science or of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Prof. Shi had made breakthroughs or important achievements in scientific research of chemical thermodynamics, membrane separation technique, absorption, drying and other fields and had made significant contributions to the theoretical construction of chemical engineering and the development of chemical industry of our country. Prof. Shi was conferred the honor of the "National Excellent Expert Who Has Made Significant Contribution to the Chemical Industry" by the Ministry of Chemical Industry in May,1992, and in 1998, he won the prize of Ho Leung Ho Lee Science and Technology Progress Award.
